Sand Soldiers - Sculpture Number 16

Sand Soldiers invites viewers to explore the tension between individual chaos and collective movement. Each soldier crab follows its own erratic path, yet together they form a cohesive swarm. The crabs’ unpredictability is integral to the unity of the whole, symbolising how chaos and order coexist. In this sculpture, each crab is uniquely posed to reflect the chaotic yet purposeful motion observed in nature. The piece encourages reflection on the balance between autonomy and unity, and how seemingly random actions contribute to a collective purpose.
