The Hive Art Gallery is delighted to present A Celebration of Place: Living on the GC, the fourth exhibition in our A Celebration of Place series.

This curated exhibition celebrates the unique beauty of the Gold Coast and the places that shape our everyday lives. From our beaches, waterways and hinterland to local streets, parks and neighbourhoods, we invite artists to explore the connection between people and place through their creative practice.

Whether inspired by the changing light across the coastline, native flora and fauna, iconic landmarks or quiet local moments and memories, this exhibition celebrates the many ways living on the Gold Coast influences and inspires us.

We welcome submissions from artists working in all mediums.
Be part of this creative tribute to place.

Key Dates

Entries Open: Friday 3 July
Entries Close: Sunday 4 October, 5:00 pm
Artwork Delivery: On or before Tuesday 13 October, 10am–3pm
Exhibition Opening: Saturday 17 October 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Exhibition Dates: 17 October – 3 November

Submission Guidelines

Artwork Requirements

  • Artwork must be the artist's own original work.

  • Works must not infringe the copyright or intellectual property rights of another person.

  • Any medium is welcome, including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and mixed media.

  • Artwork should respond to the exhibition theme Living on the GC.

  • Artworks must be framed and exhibition-ready (including appropriate for hanging hardware-D-Rings and wire) and be labelled on the back with artist’s name and details.

  • Selected entries will be notified following the submission closing date via email.

  • Delivery and collection of selected works is the responsibility of the artist.

  • Cost of entry is $25 per piece and is non-refundable if your work is not selected.
