Clay Figure Sculpting with Irene Messia

Join Italian artist Irene Messia for a hands-on introduction to clay figure sculpting. Over two immersive weekends, you'll explore the fundamentals of proportion, structure, and anatomy as you build a human figure in clay working from a real life model.

Spend a dedicated weekend studying the human figure in oil paint with internationally trained Italian artist Irene Messia. Hosted at Hive Art Gallery, this intensive two-day workshop will lead participants through the foundational elements of figure painting — including proportion, tonal relationships, structure, and colour — all while working directly from a live model.
If you're seeking a perfect excuse for some self-care, invite a friend and spend a few hours immersed in the joy of painting.
In our Signature Fresco Painting workshop you'll learn how to work with a textured surface, enhance your color mixing skills, render forms, and build layers effectively. Explore the art of water based pigments on lime board to craft a distinctive, nature-inspired masterpiece.
Dive into a visual escape and create a unique 30cm x 30cm watercolor artwork on lime board. All materials are provided.
Open Studio is an opportunity to create in a setting and be inspired by the energy from our Hive Artists . Bring your own gear, snacks or take a short stroll to Bread Social for lunch. As always, please park on the street.
