Let There Be Light

The Hive Art Gallery is delighted to present Let There Be Light, an exhibition celebrating the expressive power of black and white through the work of artists Zenga Butler and Nita Barca.

Working without the distraction of colour, both artists reveal the beauty of light, shadow and form in distinctly different ways. Zenga Butler's striking portrait studies showcase his exceptional technical skill and remarkable ability to capture character, emotion and presence. In contrast, Nita Barca's beautifully observed works celebrate the quiet elegance of the natural world, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the intricate beauty found in nature.

Together, their work demonstrates how light can illuminate not only a subject, but also the stories, textures and emotions that lie beneath the surface.

This exhibition also hosts a couple of special ‘cameo pieces’ from none other than our very own Life Drawing Sessions ink with a stick specialist, Rebecca Cunningham.
