A Christmas Eve to Remember at The Hive Art Gallery

Christmas Eve at The Hive Art Gallery was filled with colour, creativity and festive cheer as we welcomed guests from the Bill Peach Journey Tour for a special Watercolour Paint’n Sip experience.

Travelling through the Tweed region as part of their Christmas journey, tour guests were treated to a relaxed and joyful creative session — a chance to slow down, sip, paint and celebrate the season together in a truly memorable way. Surrounded by the Inspired by Nature watercolour exhibition, on display at The Hive from November through to Australia Day 2026, the gallery provided the perfect setting for an immersive and inspiring experience.

The workshop was led by the incredibly talented Alison Danziger, who guided participants step-by-step through a watercolour artwork designed to be approachable, expressive and fun — even for first-time painters. Laughter, conversation and concentration flowed easily as guests discovered the joy of working with watercolour, many surprising themselves with what they created.

To make the experience even more special, each guest finished the session with their own framed artwork to take home — a unique keepsake and a creative reminder of celebrating Christmas on the Tweed.

It was a beautiful example of what The Hive Art Gallery loves to offer: meaningful creative experiences that bring people together, connect them with art, and leave them with something both tangible and memorable. We were delighted to be part of the Journey Tour’s festive celebrations and to share the magic of watercolour, community and place on such a special day.
