Hive Kids Art Classes with Nicole Slattery – Creativity, Confidence & Fun!

There’s something very special about giving children the time and space to simply create.

Our Hive Kids Art Classes at The Hive Art Gallery in Currumbin are designed to encourage young artists to explore their creativity, develop practical art skills and, most importantly, gain confidence in their own ideas.

Led by experienced Gold Coast artist Nicole Slattery, the classes introduce children to a variety of techniques and materials, including drawing, painting, ink, mixed media, clay and creative journalling. Nicole’s warm and encouraging approach allows each child to work at their own level while learning important foundations such as observation, colour mixing, light and shade, proportion and composition.

At The Hive, we believe children’s art classes should be about much more than producing a finished picture. They are an opportunity to experiment, make mistakes, solve problems and discover that there is rarely only one way to create something.

Being surrounded by original artwork in a working gallery also gives our Hive Kids a unique experience. They are able to see the work of local artists, talk about different styles and techniques, and begin to understand that art is something they can continue to enjoy throughout their lives.

And, of course, there is plenty of fun along the way!

Our aim is simple: less screen time, more making, imagining and creating.

Nicole is also offering two very special opportunities Creative Kids workshops this September School Holidays.
